Notes:
Elmer attended Luther Academy for a short course in accounting. He sang in the Men's Chorus there for several years.
Elmer was the Choir Director at Immanuel for over 25 years, played the clarinet in the town band, served was Mayor of Ceresco and served on the Town Council for many years. Elmer was also a Deacon on the Church Board of Immanuel Lutheran Chh in Ceresco, Nebraska.
He farmed with Irvin after their father died, but later worked for George Siegriest in the Chevrolet Garage in Ceresco. After 1946, he was in partnership with Herman in the Pearson Garage for 25 years.

OBITUARY
ELMER WINFRED PEARSON
Elmer Winfred Pearson, son of Peter William Pearson and Clara Elizabeth Brodd Pearson, was born January 16, 1903, at Laramie, Wyoming and died November 14, 1981. On February 23, 1927, he was married to Sophia Heiser. To this union were bornr children; Martin Leroy, Philip Eugene, Phyllis Sophia and Willard Elmer. His son Philip and wife Sophia preceded him in death. In May of 1974 he was married to Erma Kathleen Shiles of Lincoln.
Elmer was a retired automobile mechanic, having worked for the George Siegrest Garage before opening his own shop. His brother Herman joined him in partnership until Herman's retirement. At Elmer's retirement, his son Leroy took over the busis.
Elmer was very involved with his church, Immanuel Lutheran in Ceresco, and the community. He played in the church orchestra and band as long as they were in existence; sang with the barbershop quartet; choir and directed the choir for 32 ye. Served on the church council for many years. He was on the town board and served as mayor for many years, played in the town band from the time of his youth; and was a charter member of the Senior Citizens group.
His survivors include his widow Erma; sons Martin, Ceresco; Willard, Santa Monica, Calif.; daughter, Mrs. Marlin (Phyllis) Olson, Wahoo; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Herman, Ceresco; sister, Edna Brostrom, Corvallis, O; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Services were at Immanuel Lutheran Church, November 17, 1981. Internment in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wahoo.
Elmer married Sophia Albertine Eugenie Heiser on 23 Feb 1927 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ceresco, Nebraska. Sophia was born on 17 Jan 1903 in Nebraska; died on 10 Mar 1970 in Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, after a lengthy illness.; was buried on 13 Mar 1970 in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Swedeburg, Saunders County, Nebraska.
