Notes:

Nels came to America in 1889 and citizen in 1906 (1920 census). In 1930 he said he was 28 and his wife was 30 when they married. In 1910 he said he was 48 and she 49. In 1910 he was a farmer. In the 1900 census they were living in Center precinct, Saunders, NE and a single, 20 year old Jon Martinson was a hired man.
