ROY L.: Born July 6, 1904 at Cody, Nebr. Went to school and grew up in Shelby. He moved to Lincoln with parents in 1923 and was employed by the Burlington Railroad as a carpenter. He married Opal Tabler of Lincoln after which they moved to a farm in West Bend, Iowa. They are members of Methodist church.

Myron married Emma Sophia Swanson on 21 Sep 1903. Emma (daughter of Olaf Swanson and Johanna Trued) was born on 11 Jan 1882 in Original homestead, Swede Home, Polk County, Nebraska. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

EMMA: Like the others, was born on farm at Swede Home, where she remained and worked until she was married to Myron D. Thompson, Sept. 21, 1903. The moved to Shelby, Nebr., then to Cody, and back to Shelby where Myron engaged in the carpenter trade and contracting. They pursued this occupation until 1920 when they moved to a farm at Litchfield, Nebr. (Myron built the writer

Olaf married Johanna Trued on 17 Oct 1874. Johanna (daughter of Trued Nilsson and Elsa) was born on 30 Jul 1847 in Attarp, Kristianstads Lan, Sweden; died on 18 Dec 1926; was buried in Swede Home Cemetery, Polk County, Nebraska. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

JOHANNA: (Jenny) Third child of Trued and Elsie Nilsson. Born July 30, 1847 in Attarp, Kristianstads Lan, Sweden.
She came to U. S. and to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1871, where she worked in the home of the late Dr. Allen R. Benton, first chancellor of the University of Nebraska. After three years in this home she became the bride of Olaf Swanson, who had arrived on the same sailing vessel from Sweden. They were married October 17, 1874, and moved immediately to a homestead in Polk County,-an inland village, because it had no Railroad. They were of the Lutheran faith and continued their membership in the Swede Home church for some time, but eventually left it and affiliated with the Swedish Methodist church in Stromsburg, where they remained until their death.
They were the parents of seven children, the oldest two being twins. The writer, as a youngster, remember Aunt
