My name is Peter Rosengren and, according to the family tree diagram on one of your website pages, I am the great-great-grandson of Hans Sjunnesson Rosengren (1810-1889) and Gunilla Svensdotter (1804-1885). Your research looks fascinating and certainly matches what I know of our family history. I know some family members here in Australia have researched the origins of the Rosengrens in this country, so I'm confident that someone, somewhere, has more information. I have a couple of photos of Herman Rosengren and his wife Catherine (nee McAuliffe) as well. Just for your interest, I am married to Monica (nee Leong) and we have two children, Benedict and Kateri. By some strange coincidence, just a few days after I contacted you, Karen, a cousin who I have never met - Kevin Rosengren - contacted me seeking details about my side of the family. Kevin is a retired mining engineer and is developing the family tree - I suppose as a hobby. He sent me some PDFs of the work in progress which I am attaching to this email. I'm also attaching a photo of ourselves, which is of myself and my wife, Monica, and our children Benedict and Kateri. Benedict is 17 and in his first year of study at Sydney University. Kateri is in Year 11 at Tangara School for Girls, which is the second last year of education before graduation. I work in journalism while Monica is a domestic engineer. I was born in the State of Victoria but moved to Western Australia in my late twenties and spent half my life as a Western Australian and, of course, met my wife. These days I think of myself as a 'sandgroper', the term we Aussies have for people from the state of WA. We moved to Sydney 6 years ago when I got a job here. Monica's family is Malaysian Chinese but originates from southern China. I think you will find Kevin's PDFs interesting because he is able to go back beyond Hans Rosengren (1810) for a couple of generations.
