Thanks for the memories
I just had another spate of comment spam, and that was the last straw, I guess.
I'm not knitting much these days, and won't be able to pick up the needles again until October. So I don't have much to chat about on a blog that purports to be about knitting.
The site will stay up for a while - who knows, I might resume posts when I resume knitting. But I suspect my blogging urges are going to send me in a non-knitting-related direction.
Until we meet again, Happy Knitting!

Knit "A Bit", indeed
Someone from the knitting web ring is going to bust me if I don't post an entry here pretty soon.
I am still knitting occasionally; witness the progress on a sock of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Yarn:

The pattern is from the "Knitting on the Road" book by Nancy Bush. I'm too lazy to go look at the name of the pattern.
I am so busy with work and the kids, I haven't had time to do basic things like moderate exercise or eating healthy. School starts in two weeks, and then a big project wraps up on October 1. So I'm looking forward to things slowing down a lot this fall. Since you last heard from me, I've been to Wyoming for a week-long assignment and to Lake McConaughy ("Hades") on the hottest weekend of the year. And the boat broke down, even.
I read a good book: Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. A fascinating book, and much better than the dumbed-down PBS series.
I've been enjoying Kirsten's "Daily Tab" over at "At My Knit's End". And I was so sorry for the loss of her brother-in-law a few weeks ago.
My favorite yarn store, "Woolen Treasures", moved to new more spacious digs in Loveland. Can't wait to spend more money there.
Well, there you have it.
