It's a Beanie, Bay-bee!
I bought two yummy skeins of an alpaca/silk blend and put together this cute little beanie, baby!

Thanks for the inspiration, Lauren! It's just a bit of 2x2 ribbing, some plain stockinette, some decreases, and then a little i-cord grafted back onto itself for the little doo-dah on the top.

Roscalie got a little attention over the holiday - maybe 6-8" progress on the sleeve. It's painful, let me tell you. And look how messy that seam line on the bottom of the sleeve is. I'll be able to clean it up when I weave in the ends, but in the meantime, it sure bugs me.

Coming soon: my Knitting New Year's Resolutions!

It looks fabulous. Alpaca and silk around the ears must be yummy.

Re: your Roscalie seam line lament -- it's still a fine fair isle! Not clear to me how the 2 circs are being used. Are you doing the sleeves back and forth, or in the round?
Anyhoo, my ulterior motive in commenting: Way back in August 2003, you blogged about Tivoli Bainin Tweed. By any chance, do you recall what the yardage was per 50 g? I started swatching for Rogue w/Peace Fleece (lovely, that), then dug up 19 balls of the Tivoli, purchased (in Ireland!) in '96 (funky deep periwinkle, +1 ball of turquoise)...appreciate any info you might remember...10X!

[from Karen...] Regarding the circs, I'm knitting in the round the same way you would knit socks in the round using 2 circular needles.
About the Tivoli Bainin Tweed, the labels don't give yardage - but I guess you already know that! And I don't know/don't remember what the yardage might be, either. Hey, I've been wanting to do Rogue with Peace Fleece but when I checked the gauge on my Everyday Cardigan, I had too few stitches per inch. Let me know how it works out with the Tweed - I have roughly the same quantity in a mediumish blue. Maybe *that's* what I could use this yarn for!
